hi,
i am a dad with 2kids. 10 & 11yr olds.
we have shown goats for 4years and want to move into doing lambs.
this would be for junior shows and also open shows. we show in texas.
We could use some information on how to break a lamb to walk with a child.
They will be showing breeding stock
I have a 4month old ram, we have him on a halter. when we bring him out of his pen.
he freaks out with the halter. He does walk & move with my child since we have been working on him for about two weeks.
But he holds his head low and is having a hard time because of the halter on him.
these animals are more difficult than a goat with a chain collar. How do i break them enough for my children to handle.
since its breeding you are allowed to use halters.
any suggestions on showing sheep: how to gentle, how to walk them, how to set them up would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance for any help.
