Would like feed back on the best red AI Simmental bulls on the market.  Freedom, Winchester, Remington, Red Light, Ankonian Ceasar, Long Cut? Starting to make decisions about 2006 breeding season.

Thank you!:)

I own What A Dream that is a Dream On x Red Rodeo ( Meyers Red Top) and we are really excited about the calves coming in 06. He is being marketed heavily in Canada as well as KSU bought quite abit of semen on him. You might look him up on our website H&H Simmentals He came home from stud from March 1 to June, went out on cows til Sept, he weighs 1760, 44.5cm Scrotal and 55 1/2" tall and looks great. Cattle Visions has semen on him.

I'll give you my brief synopsis.....

Remington and Winchester:  Saw them at stud recently at Strafford, MO.  The are both impressive bulls that still looked that way after covering cows this summer.  At this point, I'm really not sure that I would not pick Winchester over Remington.  Possible a little more power, though he also has slightly more frame.  They are both solid bulls.  Remington does hang is head a little, while Winchester is very proud.;)  We might use both.  First Dream, a black bull there, might be the pick of the three though!

Red Light: A good standby, though his pedigree is dated, of course.  Produced really soft-made, cowey females.

What a Dream: Can't say much about him other than he looks really impressive and is from a great cow that might be ready to make a big splash.  We'll try him.

One to watch:  We sold a bull on our sale last spring that is a Dream On out of a 600U X Mindy female that we have.  Numbers are right, pedigree is right, and he will work.  He is leased to Accelerated, and his name is Scarlet Dreams.  Look him up.  He's right at a 6.0 frame, moves like a cat, red out of two black parents, and should be a safe calving ease bet.

One thing that I like to watch is homozygous polled cattle.  I think the what a dream bull is really impressive, but his mother is horned and I know that freedom has also been throwing horns.  If that isnt a concern for you, then let er buck!

I think the dream on sons that are in the genex lineup all look impressive and I saw the scarlet dreams bull as a calf, really smooth made, sound and should be calving ease package, his new picture also looks impressive to me.  Thats my take for what its worth!

Is there a recent picture of What a Dream? The only one I can find is that of him as a yearling(calf)?

sorry, we never did do a mature shot of What a Dream, which to me he is more impressive as a mature bull even than his yrlg shot, he is such an easy fleshing easy keeping bull, he grew into that little flap under his chin, very deep and soggy. He is on cows in Texas.

Wes Tiemann saw him late in the summer and was very pleased how he looked, you might get his opinion of him as well.
